MKMG's Patient Care Coordinator, Doreen Semel, provides patients with the support they need while dealing with breast cancer. As a breast cancer survivor herself, Doreen Semel understands the importance of having support and assistance.

The Patient Care Coordinator will help support the continuum of care that coordinates the diagnosis, treatment and support services for the breast cancer patient. She will provide easy access to expeditious treatment within Mount Kisco Medical Group. The Patient Care Coordinator will pave the way for patients and families to access the necessary information from the professional staff and make the journey less fearful and more understandable.

• Provide one-on-one contact with the patient
  
• Successfully guide the patient through all modalities
  
• Be the liaison between the health care team and the patient
  
• Be a proactive representative to help patients and families
  
• Provide on-site support to help patients to move forward and beyond an illness
  
• Remain with patient throughout diagnosis and treatment
  
• Lead support groups for patients and their caregivers
